Reaching the £120,000 Target for Anthony Nolan

As the "Table Year" draws to a close, National President Steve Eccles reflects on an extraordinary 12 months of achievement, transformation, and unwavering dedication across the Table. From the outset of his presidency, Steve has championed progress, inclusion, and community spirit and as he approaches the end of his term, there is much to celebrate.

Remarkable Growth and Retention Across all of Great Britain & Ireland

In his year-long journey across the five nations, Steve has witnessed the enthusiasm and commitment of Tablers at every level. “I’ve been so humbled to see Tablers working SO hard to drive RTBI forwards,” he shared.

Among the standout achievements:

  • A 10% surge in membership, surpassing all initial growth targets.

  • Eight clubs opened, with eight more in the pipeline, signalling a robust future.

  • Strengthened communications between members and clubs.

  • Tables flourishing in strength and number across all five nations.

  • Continued excellence in fundraising and community outreach.

Moreover, we have noted a vital cultural shift within the organisation. Tablers have been embracing evolution and helping RTBI remain relevant and impactful for both their current and future members. “We set a three-year plan, and we're achieving the targets,” Steve affirmed. “You guys really have smashed it this year, so Thank You!”

One Final Push: Closing in on the £120,000 Target for Anthony Nolan

While 2024/25 has been a record-breaking year on many fronts, Steve acknowledged one goal still in sight—the ambitious £120,000 fundraising target for RTBI’s long-standing charity partner, Anthony Nolan.

“This amazing charity has stood side-by-side with RTBI since its formation in 1974,” Steve emphasized. “With your help, we’re on our way past £100,000, which is outstanding.”

Tables and individual members across the country have contributed through pledges, events, and personal efforts. RTBI members have also joined the Anthony Nolan stem cell register, and have helped the Anthony Nolan Youth Council expand its outreach to school leavers and young people in local communities.

“With your help in these final few weeks, I believe we can smash our £120k target, What a way that would be to round off such a successful year.”

A Call to Action

With AGM season in full swing, President Steve is urging Tables and Tablers to consider a final contribution if they are able. “No matter how big or small the donation, it will make a huge difference,” he said.

Steve offers a personal note of gratitude: “Thanks to each and every member who has invited me to an event or sought support this year, it's been a blast! I hope to catch you all soon.”

Yours in Table,

Steve Eccles
