I joined Round Table in 2014 when I moved to a new area and had lost my social network.  I had seen my local Round Table (Great Dunmow in North Essex) doing some amazing things in the community, from out of box socials to fantastic work in the community.

 

Joining Round Table has truly enriched my life, having made lifelong friends and had some amazing experiences that you could only get in Round Table. From recording a song at Abbey Road Studios, to cycling a 6 man bike from Essex to Loughborough, to raising huge amounts of money for good causes.

 

In my role as National President, my aim is to help the organisation to grow, whilst ensuring that Round Table offers an inclusive environment for a diverse range of members.  Working with my team our aim is to upskill members to run their clubs effectively, attract new members and make sure that they deliver a positive member experience.

 

This year I am also pleased to be supporting the Anthony Nolan Trust (https://www.anthonynolan.org/) who are celebrating their 50th year in 2024.  Anthony Nolan helps to save up to four lives per day, by maintaining their stem cell register, supporting ground breaking research and supporting families who have been effected by cancer, all with the aim of defeating cancer.

 

I am aiming to raise the equivalent of £120,000 this year by asking Round Table members to either add themselves to the stem cell register, via direct fundraising, or raising awareness at a local level about the amazing work that they do.  I would like to see Round Tables throughout the country will support me in this venture.

I will also be offering support to Round Table Childrens Wish, which offers experiences for young people with debilitating or life changing illnesses.

 

Outside of Round Table I have a young family, my wife Louise and two crazy little girls (Grace 10 and Abi 7) and enjoy running and cycling (when I can find the time!).

 

This year I am hoping that Round Table can have another successful year of growth and give the next generation of members the life affirming experiences that I have had by being a Tabler.
