Christchurch go the extra mile in their community

Every year the Table members of Christchurch get together for an enormous number of activities helping support brilliant local causes.

Thousands flock to Christchurch in the summer months for a whole array of fantastic events, with Tablers right at the heart of the activities, fundraising for brilliant local charities and causes.

Every year the Christchurch Tablers fundraise at the Stompin on the Quomps; a music festival situated in the picturesque surroundings of Christchurch Quay. The event aims to put a smile on the faces of thousands of people, irrespective of age, creed, colour or financial standing. Stompin in the Quomps always packs a punch when it comes to celebrating in the borough and the Tablers have an amazing time taking part.

The annual Food and Wine Festival, holds a special place in the year for the guys at Christchurch Table. Christchurch is twinned with German town Aalen. In true Tabling worldwide friendship style, Tablers from Germany Aalen Round Table join the English Tablers to take part in the festival. Selling ales and lagers famous from both home towns, the Tablers love to see each other every year and help raise money in the local community.

While each individual Christchurch event differs in style and audience, one thing they all have in common is the work of the volunteers! The members of Christchurch Round Table don’t just get involved in the summer festivals. They will be out on the cold winter nights with Santa this Christmas helping to do even more. Christchurch Table said “Everyone know it’s Christmas when the Round Table Santa sleigh turns up. We love seeing all the smiling faces excited for this magical time of year and everyone donating so generously to all the local causes we collect for is just fantastic.”

All this incredible fundraising means that Christchurch Tablers are able to give back directly to their local community. Most recently the guys donated £2500 to 5 local Primary Schools. The £500 per school will be used to purchase desperately needed new reading books for Years 1 & 2 children. They are hoping to raise even more in 2018, and you could be there helping them to do more.
