Annual Duck Race raises £1660 for Shalom House Palliative Care Centre
Fishguard & Districs’ annual Boxing Day Duck Race raised an impressive sum of money for charity. The annual Round Table Fishguard and District duck race took place in Lowertown drawing crowds of people.
Musical entertainment was provided by Goodwick Brass Band before a flock of yellow ducks was released into the river Gwaun.
Fishguards Chairman selected Shalom House Palliative Care Centre to be aided by the money raised at this excellent event and their “special breed of racing super ducks!”
“Yesterday we had the privilege to visit Shalom House Palliative Care Centre. The work they do there is amazing, giving respite to those who need it and all round support and care. It's also the only facility of its kind in Pembrokeshire. Everyone who works and is involved with running this great facility are truly superstars. We are proud to be able to present a donation of £1660 that was raised at our annual boxing day duck race.”
Well done to Fishguard & District Round Table.
