Big-hearted local members of the leading national organisations for young men and young women joined forces on Saturday 18th April to help a Birmingham mum who despite very challenging personal circumstances is doing much to help others.
Members of Round Table and Ladies Circle will be giving a fresh new look to the garden of Sarah.
Sarah lost her eldest son Joseph as a baby and every year she and her second son Jake keep his memory alive by raising money for charity. Suffering from a potentially fatal congenital heart disease, she recently underwent a heart transplant. Sarah is now on the long road to recovery and is immensely grateful for the opportunity she has been given.
Over the last few years she has campaigned tirelessly to raise awareness of the importance of organ donation and has encouraged many new people to sign up to the organ donor register.
Support for the garden makeover is coming from Carr & Smith Builders Ltd of Knowle in the form of manpower and equipment, while Redditch-based SE Davis & Sons Ltd provided a donation of topsoil and turf. A donation of plants has been provided by Rowberry’s Nursery of Lower Chaddesley Corbett, Worcestershire. Acorn Arable Ltd also supplied garden plants.
The Round Table organisation offers young men aged 18 to 45 the opportunity to make new friends, try new experiences, and give something back to their local communities.
Membership of Ladies Circle is open to women aged 18 to 45 who have the chance to have fun, make new friends, take part in a variety of social, cultural and sporting activities, and raise funds for local good causes.
"Thank you so much to all the team for the fantastic work, We appreciate it so much as the garden looks amazing. We've lived here for three years and it's never been done so this summer we can use it. Thanks for all your time."
