Tickets have gone on sale for this year’s Penistone Halloween spooktacular. The event is for little ghouls aged 4-11 and will take place at the frightening Market Barn in Penistone on Saturday 31st October. Doors will creak open at 4.30pm before slamming shut at 7pm.
The event is organised by local voluntary groups Penistone Round Table and Penistone Ladies Circle, with any proceeds raised going to local good causes and charities.
There will be a fancy dress competition and people are encouraged to bring their own carved pumpkin to be judged by the Mayor. Children will have the chance to ‘dress the mummy’, have their faces painted, build skeletons and take part in plenty of other spooktacular activities.
Children’s all-inclusive tickets can be purchased in advance either online at PenistoneHalloween.co.uk or from Harringtons Butchers, Cafe Crème, Cafe Generation or the Art House Cafe in Penistone. Advance tickets costs £2.50 per child (or £4 on the door) – however organisers have warned that tickets are limited, so early booking is highly recommended. Accompanying family members (whether alive or undead) go free. Food and drink will also be available on the evening.
“We wanted to offer families and children something different to traditional trick-or-treating,” explained Jon Gilbert from Penistone Round Table. “The Market Barn is a great spooky venue – and, thanks to sponsorship from Butcher Residential and CD Autos, we’ve been able to fill it with all manner of ghoulish activities for kids.”
