Southport Hesketh Round Table's 10k officially the best in the country

Southport Hesketh Round Table’s Mad Dog 10 event has picked up the award for the best 10 in the country for the third year in a row.

The table were given the award at the Running Awards, at a prestigious event held at the O2 arena last Friday.

Adrian Shandley, the race director, was in London at the ceremony to receive the award, before running the London Marathon himself on the Sunday.

“This is just amazing,  not only that we have been named as the best 10k in the UK but also the fact that we have now won the award for the last three years on the run

The race, now in its sixth year attracts upwards of 5,000 competitors and raises around £10,000 for charity each year, 2017’s event will take place on the 12th February and entry for that event will open in October 2016, until then make sure you follow the table o n both Twitter and Facebook for all Table updates.
