Remember when you rode Thomas the Tank?

While we're celebrating Father's day, we've invited Tablers to talk about their Tabling Father's and their memories of Table growing up...

Adrian Grint, Alsager Round Table

My father David Grint, now in 41 Club (the association for ex Round Table members) was a long standing member of Alsager Round Table.

I fondly remember when in 1988, for Children In Need, they built a Thomas the Tank replica based on a tractor and drove it from London to Manchester over a few days, I was 11 and was seeing my dad on the news every day and the highlight was them passing back through Alsager on the way to Manchester, the whole town lined the streets to watch them pass, as a family we were immensely proud of what himself within Round Table had achieved.

Later down the line I joined Alsager Round Table and already my 7 year old daughter is enjoying the activities we do, and is especially excited when she helps our Round Table take Santa around the town with the Santa float!

Happy Father's day day, love you Ade!

We've even managed to dig out the footage from 1988 - check out the YouTube video below
