The dust has now settled following NSW 2016 – allowing the committee and the national events officer to review the weather-hit event.
The biggest casualty was the tug of war after all of the other sports had passed off without an issue and were competed for in true Table style.
It was decided at the time to go ahead with the event – which saw four teams take part but on reflection, it is evident that this was to the detriment of a number of teams and also the integrity of NSW.
Therefore, myself, Jon Rees and the committee have worked on a solution that would reflect this, and the only fair way was to make the event null and void in terms of the overall results.
This has partly altered the standings – with Area 6 now tying with Area 14 for the Victor Ludorum Trophy. It is only the second time there has been a tie and we congratulate both teams.
As with all national events, a full debrief is conducted to make future events even more successful.
Next year’s NSW in Loughborough is at a state of the art facility where many of the country’s Olympians and Paralympians train. It will be something really special.
The guys at Loughborough are working hard so please book in and come on the biggest Table only event in the country.
Yours in Table,
