Game of the weekend
Aston Villa vs. Man City
Bottom of the League (Aston Villa) take on top of the League (Man City) in Sunday’s early kick-off. In any other league, this would be a guaranteed win for Man City, but surprises are around every corner in the Premiership.
It will be Remi Garde’s first game in charge of Aston Villa after taking over as manager. The Frenchman will be hoping to make an immediate impact on his Premiership debut, and with Villa sitting bottom of the table, he needs to.
There are no teams in the Premiership that look unbeatable, however, Man City are certainly the closest, despite some slip ups against West Ham and Tottenham, Man City have been an unstoppable force this season. Man City go into Sunday’s fixture against Villa on the back of securing a place in the last 16 of the Champions League, it will be interesting to see if City continue their form into Sunday’s fixture or will it be one game too much after City’s midweek trip to Seville.
So, will Villa’s French revolution begin with a win or will City continue their reign at the top of the table?
Who to put in your fantasy football team
The England striker has finally started scoring goals, four in two games to be precise. Kane bagged a hat-trick against Bournemouth two weeks ago, before sealing the three points against Aston Villa last week with a slick finish. This week is the North-London derby. It was in this fixture last year that Kane caught the eye of the football world, after his man of the match performance sealed bragging rights for Spurs.
Spurs have already lost to Arsenal in the League Cup this season so they will be eager to claim back their bragging rights in the Premiership. Spurs will also be confident ahead of the fixture after watching Arsenal get mullered by Bayern Munich on Wednesday. Arsenal are pretty thin at the back as both Hector Bellerin and Laurent Koscielny are injured, Harry Kane will fancy his chances of scoring against Per Mertesacker and Gabriel.
What’s the score?
Bournemouth vs. Newcastle
2 – 2
The two sides will be battling for 17th position, I expect an exciting draw.
Leicester vs. Watford
3 – 1
Leicester are still defying logic as they sit in third, they should beat Watford comfortably.
Man Utd vs. West Brom
2 – 0
If Man United actually manage to score a goal they should take all three points, don’t count on it, though, Utd have only scored one goal in their last four games.
Norwich vs. Swansea
0 – 1
Swansea have not been in the best form lately and will be eager to bounce back from their 3 – 0 defeat to Arsenal.
Sunderland vs. Southampton
0 - 2
Southampton continue to defy the odds and push for a European spot despite consistently losing their star players, they should beat a struggling Sunderland side easily.
West Ham vs. Everton
1 – 1
In the last two weeks West Ham have beaten Chelsea and lost to Watford, so who knows what to expect from the Hammers. Personally, I expect a draw.
Stoke vs. Chelsea
0 – 2
I am backing the Blues to win, simply for the fact that John Terry hilariously questioned Robbie Savage’s pedigree as a pundit this week
Aston Villa vs. Man City
1 - 2
I think Remi Garde’s baptism by fire will end in a defeat, Man City have just been too good so far this season.
Arsenal vs. Tottenham
1 - 2
I think North London will be painted white on Sunday, both teams have been on cup duty this week, but you can still expect a high-intensity derby.
Liverpool vs. Crystal Palace
2 – 1
Klopp got his first win last week against Chelsea and I think he will get his second this week against a Palace side who seem to be falling off after their bright start.
