This year Round Table, the largest voluntary organisation for men in the world has launched its most ambitious community project in recent times .’The Biggest Wish’ brings together the Round Table Family and Round Table Children’s Wish the national charity that bears its name ,that creates handcrafted wishes for children with terminal illnesses.
Round Table Children’s Wish was founded when a group of Round Table members got together to make a very poorly child’s dream come true and that dream was to go to Disney. The groups worked hard raising money by holding a variety of fundraising events and before long they had enough money to make the dream a reality and the first wish was granted. Due to the success of the wish, the group continued to fundraise making more dreams become a reality, then in 90’s the charity as we know it was founded that still bears our name and stands for everything we hold important as members of Round Table.
In the 1980’s Round Table worked alongside the Anthony Nolan Trust and in just six weeks managed to sign up 100,000 potential new donors to its register.
One Organisation Making A Difference
This year RTCW is celebrating 25 years of creating handcrafted wishes so Round Table have created The Biggest Wish where every Table in the United Kingdom will nominate a family from their community to come to Drayton Manor Theme Park for the day accompanied by a ‘wishmaker’ from each Table.
‘Imagine over 400 families coming together alongside over 400 wishmakers to create The Biggest Wish’
We have had great support with money pledged by Round Table Charitable Trust, a web design company have designed our own designated Web Page www.thebiggestwish.co.uk. Members of the team have set up designated Facebook, Twitter & Linked In Accounts which are now being used for a targeted social media campaign by a professional digital marketing company.
A team of table volunteers & RTCW ambassadors are working together to facilitate the event, alongside members of the national board and Regional reps .
We also have the support of two major high street brands ( more details to follow) .
