Clitheroe Mayor Is Targeting Her Local Round Table Club Members On Their Performance!
Published: Monday 1st March 2010Three members of Clitheroe Round Table in Lancashire will be training hard to beat their previous times over 10km in The BUPA Great Manchester Run on 15th May 2010.
Clitheroe Mayor Mary Robinson has backed local round tablers to beat their previous targets and complete a 10K road race in record time. Having completed the course in previous years the three members of Clitheroe Round Table all hope to get round in under 50 minutes this time and raise in excess of a thousand pounds in doing so.
Counsellor Mary Robinson said: I know the team will be training hard over the coming weeks and I wish them all the best in beating both their time and fund raising targets.
The race itself (The BUPA Great Manchester Run) takes place on the 15th May 2010 and sends the runners out on a 10 Km circuit of Manchester from Deansgate out to Old Trafford and back into the city centre.
The funds raised will go to Round Table Children’s Wish – a charity that grants wishes for terminally ill children and anyone who wants to help make a wish come true for a local youngster can help the lads reach their target by donating via a secure online charity service at Just Giving
In the meantime if you keep your eyes peeled you might just see the lads out training on their preferred routes around Clitheroe, Waddington and West Bradford.
Clitheroe Round Table is a family orientated club which holds social and community service events on a local, regional and national level. For more information on joining Clitheroe Round Table please visit their website.
