Gibraltar Visit

Airdrie on Tour

Airdrie and District Round table are just back from another exciting and successful visit to our twinned table in Gibraltar.

On the agenda this time was a Burns supper and a bit of caving.

Representatives on this trip included the Airdrie and District Round Table Vice Chairman, Chairman and the Area 51 Chairman.

As you can see from the picture, we were successful in transporting our finest tartans for the Burn's Supper. The Burns Supper is always one of the most popular events that we participate in each year, and this can be seen by an impressive 11 tablers making the long journey to be there.

Burns Supper

The Burns Supper was a great night and everyone enjoyed the fellowship and friendship whilst paying tribute to the great man Rabbie Burns.

As always, we were given a fantastic recption by our Gibraltar fiends and they were excellent hosts over the time of our stay. We look forward to welcoming them over to Scotland sometime soon.

Caving

For a bit of fun, some brave tablers went to Lowers St Michael's Cave (Upper Rock). Aparently 11 brave souls went in but only 7 came out the other end. Chairman Colin Williams remarked that "honestly, its not as easy as it looks.....". Afterwards the group enjoyed some lunch at Jumpers. A great time was had by all.in the caves in the caves
