The Boys Ride For The Girls
Members of Elland Round Table joined Elland Ladies Circle on the famous C2C cycle ride . The event took place over 3 days on the 3rd to 5th July
The event was in aid of the Multiple Sclerosis Society the chosen charity of Viv Weston Elland Ladies Circle Chairman and raised over £11000 in sponsorship. The ride left Whitehaven on Saturday 3rd July with an over night stop in Penrith then onto Allenheads for night 2 . Day 2 proved to be tough with the hills of Hartside and Black hill to get over. We also had rain and gale force winds to contend with . Day 3 was dry and the longest mileage day but after the killer hill of Stainhope it was slightly downhill all the way to tynemouth.
The event was a brilliant social event with plenty of laughs along the way and a few aching limbs. 17 riders and a team of 4 helpers all dressed in bright orange Tshirts meant that we was noticed on our trip.
Everyone enjoyed the trip and apart from a few punctures and broken chains the trip passed uneventful.
